Liberals Can’t Meme: Nordstream Example

It’s easy to spot a Liberal attempt at meme-crafting. The major giveaway is they’re scared to use metaphor or hyperbole; anything they say that can be intentionally misinterpreted by a peer in the Hive, is a weapon against them. Thus, the Lefty tries to either go Full Autistic or meaningless bafflegarble.

This meme turned up on Western Rifle Shooters. I don’t know its origin but am confident it’s “left of Drumph”.

The quick giveaway is that it literally calls out anybody who disagrees, retarded. Who does that, I wonder?

Then there’s a total lack of metaphor, symbology or… anything artistic. It’s a wall of text with an image of Putin giggling. Zero chance of a Narrative violation.

But sure, let’s entertain the idea that the author might have a point. What if the Nordstream sabotage really was a Russian effort?

1.Russia destroying Nordstream is terrible for Russian revenue. Revenue is why Russia built Nordstream in the first place, and now they’re not even ABLE to sell gas in Europe… at a time when prices are sky-high!

Was NATO not paying attention to what the Russian Navy was doing offshore of Sweden?

2. The only reason people might believe Putin blaming USA for such an act, is because USA has a very long habit of doing exactly such things. (Syria says hello.) Also, because Biden said in February that he’d destroy the Nordstreams. If Russia did what America threatened America would do, then frankly, America’s got no reason to complain about being framed for it.

Also frankly, if America threatened to do it then it wasn’t because they were secretly trying to help Russia.

3. “Putin gets to play the innocent victim”, ah, what sweet projection. Russia IS an innocent victim. Its special military operation came at the end of eight years’ provocation, the last straw being Ukraine joining NATO which would have put Moscow within blitzkrieg range, then when the limited invasion began… and it WAS limited, civilian infrastructure was mostly unharmed… all of NATO tried to destabilize Russia’s economy and headhunt its financial leaders. (Very strange behavior, that last bit. Very informative, too.)

And lastly, Putin can already do anything he wants vis a vis Europe. Russia just got the green light from all four of the referendums it just held in the Donbas.

It’s USA that is desperate to always be the prettiest whore. We always have to look like the good guy even as the world watches ten percent go to the Big Guy.

I don’t defend Putin because I’m a Russophile, or am paid to, or am trying to impress somebody, or am working some angle. I defend Putin because the truth is, Putin didn’t do this sabotage. If he had then I’d blame him just as quickly. Putin doesn’t matter. USA doesn’t matter. Memes don’t matter. Only the truth matters.

And there’s a lot of truth in that! (Also sourced from WRS.)

Explaining memes to a liberal is like explaining honesty to a Communist. They’ll never learn because they don’t want to learn. Liberals see art as a weapon, something that winners do to losers. That’s why they can’t create, can’t be happy, can’t be curious, can’t change over time, can’t be tolerant, can’t salvage Star Wars and can’t meme.

  1. Russia IS an innocent victim.
You are aware Russia invaded Ukraine back in 2014, and has had Russian military equipment in Ukraine for the last 8 years, right? It’s arguable how many troops they had in Ukraine prior to 2022, but even the most naïve, but honest, person would acknowledge at least 10k Russian troops during some of the fighting a few years back.

Its special military operation came at the end of eight years’ provocation
Since Russian troops and military hardware were in Ukraine for eight years, but no Ukraine troops or military hardware were in Russia over those eight years, I assume you are referring to Russian provocation?
I know George Soros is mixed up in Ukraine, trying to pervert their culture. But I have not heard about any American actors/agents acting in Russia, e.g. trying to pervert Russian culture. I can’t claim it is not happening, just that I have not heard any claims for that.

the last straw being Ukraine joining NATO
You are aware that Ukraine is not only not in NATO, but does not even have a committed path to NATO membership, right? That I disagree with… the US and other allies dangle NATO protection in front of Ukraine, but clearly have no desire for it to happen. Unless the political situation changes tomorrow, in which case they will claim they “truly” wanted Ukraine in the pact all along.

which would have put Moscow within blitzkrieg range
Poland and the Baltic states were already in the pact, so this is not a change. Well, it is a change, but not in the way you appear to have meant. Since Norway is joining, the border with NATO countries is changing. But that only happened because Russia showed a significant increase in aggression against their neighbours. Which is kind of a silly perception, since Russia has continually been aggressive against their various neighbours prior to 2014, just not Ukraine. Chechnya, Georgia, Moldova, etc.

I’m not claiming the US has acted with innocence. The US, China, Russia and Ukraine all show our sinful nature.
But Russia is not even close to an innocent victim in their war.

    1. “You are aware Russia invaded Ukraine back in 2014, and has had Russian military equipment in Ukraine for the last 8 years, right?”

No, I’m not. Are you talking about Donbas militias trained & supplied by Russia or a division of uniformed troops? The former would explain why Russian Donbas haven’t been ethnic-cleansed yet.

“You are aware that Ukraine is not only not in NATO, but does not even have a committed path to NATO membership, right?”

It was going to happen. NATO was gloating about it and Russia decided that was the line that couldn’t be crossed. Had they waited until Ukraine gained Section 5 protection (I think it’s called) then intervention would have been too late. Russia’s reason for not allowing Ukraine to join NATO was very reasonable: they want buffer states between them and NATO. I would too, in their position, and the long-term presence in Ukraine of NATO advisors, Azov Nazis, off-books biolabs and Hunter Biden left me with the very worst suspicions about GAE’s intentions. By contrast, Russia wants ethnic & culturally Russian Donbas to rejoin Russia, and get a port city in the process. The motivations are not comparable.

Granted, “innocent” is rarely a simple word in politics. But it’s a hard sell that Russia is the aggressor, when GAE has publicly demanded Russia’s destruction for many years and expanded NATO to encroach on Russia for many years.

I haven’t looked at Russian behavior regarding its former satellites. I don’t need to because all politics are local. The Jews run GAE foreign policy and they want their Pale of Settlement, with a side of murdering Russia for kicking them out a century ago. The Neocons cooperate because they need a new Forever War to replace Afghanistan with. The banksters cooperate so they can plunder Russia’s resources. That’s what the Ukraine conflict is truly about… not Russia, not NATO, not USA. It’s Jews and MICs and plutocrats playing God. Framing all that as a territory dispute is momentarily useful, is all that the Ukraine conflict is.

      1. It was going to happen. NATO was gloating about it

I don’t know if you are right. I suspect not, as the US has been tempting Ukraine with NATO membership for decades and nothing has happened yet, while Norway will be admitted in less than a year.
But maybe you are right. I think it will not happen at least for another decade though. Turkey didn’t even want to agree to the latest two entrants, and those were not in the middle of being attacked.

No, I’m not. Are you talking about Donbas militias trained & supplied by Russia or a division of uniformed troops?

Why would either of your suggested perceptions be different? Either way, Russia was sending money and tanks into a foreign country. How do you think the GAE would respond if Russia sent tanks to a group of dissatisfied people in New Mexico or Texas, and helped those American rebels to start a war with the US government?
Or if it is difficult to talk about the US, then pick any other country. How would you expect Brazil to respond if country “X” sent tanks, war planes, missiles capable of shooting down aircraft, and the cash to run a war against the Brazilian government? And what do you think a non-evil government should do in the face of these actions?

The former would explain why Russian Donbas haven’t been ethnic-cleansed yet.

You really believe the claim that Ukraine wants to kill all Russian speakers? How is it that Ukraine has been independent from Russia for over 20 years, and still has somehow not gotten around to even starting to kill off all the Russian speakers?
And no, I don’t think it counts that the government fights against (and kills) Ukrainian and Russian fighters who are supplied by Russia, given that those people started the war in the East and are killing other Ukrainians. Any reasonable government would fight back if a group within their country started killing other citizens and claiming to secede.

It is obvious to me that people who swallow the lie that Ukraine wants to kill off Russian speakers or culturally-Russian Ukrainians have never set foot in Ukraine. In the capital Kyiv/Kiev, the vast majority of people speak Russian. They usually can speak Ukrainian too, but the daily language, in my experience, was Russian. Do you think the Ukraine people want to kill off everyone in their own capital city? That position would seem fairly …. lacking in plausibility. Political debates in Ukraine feature both languages.
(I did not go to the western part of the country where the situation is supposedly different; supposedly out West people will usually speak both at least a little, but Ukrainian is often dominant.)
I only speak Russian, not Ukrainian, and I had no trouble with speaking Russian in any store or with any person on the street (in Kyiv). I did not even have to look for a person that understood Russian; everyone I spoke with could speak Russian.
I even spoke to a policeman in Russian, and I somehow managed to live to tell the tale. Will you claim to be surprised this government agent did not kill me for speaking Russian?

Fun fact: In Orthodox churches, the preaching part of the service (often) does not use Russian or Ukrainian. They use some ancient form of the language that came before both Russian and Ukrainian. Kind of like Roman Catholic churches that used Latin in their services instead of the local language.

I am just as bad, but it is interesting how ignorant many people are about history. Using the justification of protecting German speakers, to invade, kill, and steal land, is what Hitler did. It was an obviously invalid and untruthful justification then. It is the same now. It would be the same if the US invaded Canada and started killing off the French from Quebec, stealing/annexing land from the “oppressed” English parts of Canada in the process. Or if France did the reverse, killing off the “oppressive English majority” to protect the “oppressed” French.

By the way, do you know how the Eastern parts of Ukraine came to be dominated by Russian speakers? Russia conquered Ukraine as part of World War II. While Ukraine was subject to Russia, many Russians moved to Ukraine, mostly to the Eastern parts which were closer to Russia. Ukraine of course could not say no. For parts of the time Ukraine was subject to Russia (not all), Russia also dictated that Russian was to be dominant in government, schools, etc.
Some of those Russian invaders and their families remain culturally Russian, although certainly not all. Those who do are then used as an excuse to invade, kill, steal and destroy. Pretty nifty how past aggression gives justification for present-day aggression, right?

This is similar to illegal immigrants that illegally sneak into Italy, and then have a child born on Italian soil. The illegal immigrant is automatically granted Italian citizenship. (I think the citizenship laws are similar in most western nations.)
But should I be surprised when this new Italian citizen and his family are culturally not Italian? Maybe Africa could start to demand to take 20% of Italian territory, to “protect” the non-culturally-Italian Italians that are being oppressed in Italy by the Italian-speaking majority?

        1. “It was going to happen.” “I don’t know if you are right.”

“Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy visited Brussels on June 4 and 5, where he met with the leadership of the European Union and NATO. He reaffirmed Kyiv’s goal of integrating into both institutions—goals enshrined earlier this year as strategic objectives in Ukraine’s constitution.

“NATO membership for Ukraine is unlikely in the near term. For the foreseeable future, Ukraine should continue to deepen its practical cooperation with the alliance.”

You’re right about their being slow on the admittance process, but Ukraine clearly wanted it… and they were serving as a NATO cats-paw immediately prior to Russia’s SMO:

          h ttps://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2021/09/01/joint-statement-on-the-u-s-ukraine-strategic-partnership/

“The United States and Ukraine have finalized a Strategic Defense Framework that creates a foundation for the enhancement of U.S.-Ukraine strategic defense and security cooperation and the advancement of shared priorities, including implementing defense and defense industry reforms, deepening cooperation in areas such as Black Sea security, cyber defense, and intelligence sharing, and countering Russian aggression.”

“How is it that Ukraine has been independent from Russia for over 20 years, and still has somehow not gotten around to even starting to kill off all the Russian speakers?”

Eight years, since Maidan removed Ukraine’s pro-Russia government. You may recall a hot-mic moment in 2012 between President Obama and Dmitry Medvedev, “after my election I have more flexibility.” GAE was cooperative with Russia in 2012, then installed an anti-Russia government in Ukraine in 2014, which has persecuted the Russian areas & people since then… probably on GAE’s orders. I sense hidden agendas, but my best guess is merely the rumor that Putin really did kick Rothschild out of Russia.

“How do you think the GAE would respond if Russia sent tanks to a group of dissatisfied people in New Mexico or Texas”

Dude, I fantasize about that. Whore of Babylon delenda est.

Besides, USA’s breakup is inevitable and will surely involve meddling by foreign powers. Russia would be a better fate than China or the cartels.

But I do see your point.
